Proverbs Follow-up

Following up on my post of yesterday, on further reading (I often read backwards) Solomon was not your typical one-sided purveyer of wisdom — no dogmatist was he. Earlier in the book of Proverbs he is counselling his son against the dangers of strange women. And I think this is one of the most beautiful passages I’ve read in the Bible. It is simply so earthy and human:
Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and the pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. — Proverbs 5:18-19
